Do Aveda hair colors contain cancer causing chemicals?
I am especially worried about bladder cancer. |

Thank you for asking this very important question. Aveda has provided us with the following information, which should relieve your concerns: All Aveda products are at least 97% natural plant botanicals, with the remaining 3% of our color being made up of either ammonia or peroxide, and PPD, which is a diamine derived from natural gas, not from coal. This is important to know because products derived from natural gas have never been known to be carcinogenic, as have those derived from coal, especially to the bladder and liver. Most other color produced today contain amines which come from coal, as reported in a recent national news program. Hope this helps! |
