Therapeutic Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on the fascia, re-aligning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It should not be confused simply with deeper pressure. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas, such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as Swedish massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. You may experience some stiffness or mild discomfort after a deep tissue massage, but this is not a common experience and when it occurs, it usually subsides within a day or so.

Prenatal Massage is tailored to alleviate some of the discomforts of a normal pregnancy. We do suggest that you contact your doctor before you book this service. Some doctors may recommend waiting until after the 1st trimester to experience this comforting and relaxing massage.

Acupressure for Elemental Nature is the stimulation of certain points in the body applied with finger pressure. The flow of blood and oxygen is increased to the affected areas helping to relax the muscles and promote healing. Manual Lymph Drainage is a very gentle, specialized massage therapy used to drain excess fluid out of the loose connective tissue in the body. It can improve the overall function of the immune system, and help reduce pain. This massage experience is incredibly soothing and allows the patient to completely relax.

Reflexology Massage is a safe, natural therapy that promotes well being and good health. Do you enjoy foot massage? Are you suffering from stress and chronic pain? In reflexology, the therapist manipulates and applies pressure primarily to specific zones on the soles of the feet. These zones reflect an image of the body, and when manipulated, promote the body’s own healing power.

Structural Integration is a form of deep tissue work originally pioneered by Dr. Ida Rolf in the latter part of the twentieth century. Dr. Rolf developed and taught a ten-session series designed to re-organize the fascia, or connective tissue, of the entire body to be more functional in gravity. In this therapeutic session, the principles of the broader work of Structural Integration are explored in treating dysfunctional movement patterns and chronic areas of injury or tension. The client is an active participant in the work, and is encouraged to wear running shorts or swim wear to minimize the need for careful draping. A thorough health history is taken, and an assessment of short and long-term goals is discussed.
